How do we find the vector for this situation?

Andrea runs 2 km south, then turns around and runs 3 km north.

"the" vector?
There are two given, one pointing south and the other pointing north.
The resultant is the difference between them, since they point in opposite directions. so it is 1km north.
Disp. = -2i + 3i = +1i = 1km North.
