how do i solve this linear equation:

3x/4 + 6 = -12 (3x over 4 is a fraction)
and this quadratic equation.....
-4x squared = 0??

3 answers

just multiply each term by 4 to get
3x + 24 = -48
3x = -72
x = 24

yes, your second equation is a quadratic.
1) multiply both sides by 4/3

x+6*4/3=-12*4/3

does that help?
2) Yes, a quadratic. it is a trivial equation.
ok, on the first one, after x = -72, where did you get x = 24?
and for the second problem, how am I to solve it??
