f(2) = -3,f(-2) = 5

The formula for slope is change in y/change in x. F(x) is the same as y in this case. Change in y = 2--2 = 4. Change in x = -3-5 = -8. 4/-8 = -1/2

Ok-but what is the formula using x and y variables?

is the slope y1-y2 over x1-x2?

f(2) = -3,f(-2) = 5 means you are given the two points
(2,-3) and (-2,5)
So the slope is (5+3)/(-2-2) = ......
(2,-3) and (-2,5)
So the slope is (5+3)/(-2-2) = ......
