how do I calculate what temperature is needed to heat 52 grams of ethane to occupy 1200ml?

This makes little sense to me.
I think charles law is needed were pressure and mole mass is constant, temperature and volume varies. Im stuck putting it all together.
Your problem doesn't list any starting conditions. Perhaps you are to use STP.
moles C2H6 = 52/30.07 = about 1.6 but you need to do it more accurately than that.
1 mole will occupy 22.4 L @ STP so 1.6 moles will occupy about 22.4 x 1.6 = about 38 L.
Now I would use (V1/T1) = (V2/T2)
I would call T1 = 273 K and solve for T2 (in Kelvin).
I worked it out to need 8458.6K
would this seem like resonable value?

thank you for you're help
