In "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" (ACNH), ordinances are special rules that players can enact to influence daily life on their islands. They provide various benefits and changes to the way residents interact with the game. As of my last update, there are seven ordinances you can choose from:
-
Beautiful Island Ordinance:
- This ordinance helps keep the island looking tidy. Flowers will grow more, including hybrid types, and weeds will grow less frequently. This is particularly useful for players who want to maintain a beautiful landscape without too much upkeep.
-
Early Bird Ordinance:
- This ordinance is aimed at players who enjoy playing in the morning. When enacted, most shops and services will open earlier in the day (around 5 AM), and villagers will be more active in the mornings. This is great for morning players who want to make the most of their time in-game.
-
Night Owl Ordinance:
- Opposite to the Early Bird ordinance, this one is for night owls. It causes shops and services to open later in the day (as late as 11 PM), and villagers will stay awake longer. Perfect for players who prefer to play in the evening or night.
-
Paradise Planning Ordinance:
- This ordinance gives you and your villagers greater opportunities for customization. It helps improve the overall design and layout of the island, promoting creativity and making it easier to plan new builds and decor.
-
Shopping District Ordinance:
- With this ordinance, more shops and services become available, and special visitor events are more frequent. This enhances your shopping experience by making it easier to access items and interact with other characters.
-
Nighttime Nesting Ordinance:
- This ordinance encourages villagers to be more social and engaging at night. It keeps them active longer and promotes more interaction, making nighttime gameplay more lively.
-
Café Culture Ordinance (introduced in updates):
- This ordinance enhances your island's social scene with more café events and activities happening more frequently. It encourages interaction among villagers and makes coffee and snack stations more vibrant.
To enact or change an ordinance, players need to visit their island's Resident Services and speak to Isabelle, who will guide you through the process. Remember that it's important to communicate with your villagers and observe how they respond to the changes you make with these ordinances.
Feel free to ask if you have questions about specific ordinances or need more tips for your island!
