Hi can someone advise whether my methodology is right on this
with a potential energy of 589 kJ per tonne, 100 tonnes of water per second are delivered to a turbine. Assuming all the potential energy of this water is used to drive the turbine how much power will be delivered to the turbine
589 kJ x 100 tonnes per second = 58900 kj per second
Convert to watts (1 watt = 1 joule per second)
58900 kJ per second = 58900 kW
Convert kilowatts to megawatts
58900 kW /1000
59 MW to 2 significant figures
