I find myself agreeing more with Mark Twain and Jane Addams. Both of them believed in letting countries govern themselves instead of forcing American values on them. They thought that every nation should have the right to decide its own future without outside interference.
Mark Twain argued that while it's important to help others, it should be done in a way that respects their independence. Jane Addams shared this view and added that fighting against imperialism was important for promoting peace and democracy. I think respecting other countries’ choices is important because it fosters better relations and understanding between nations. It also helps avoid conflicts that can arise from trying to impose one country's beliefs on another.
