help me pls

50.00 mL of 0.25 M HClO4 mixed with 50.00 mL of 1.00 M HCl.
Determine the PH and poh ?

1 answer

How many mols HClO4 do you have? That's M x L = 0.25 x 0.05 = ?
How many mols HCl do you have? That's 1.00 x 0.05 = ?
How many total mols do you have? Just add them.
M of the H^+ is total mols/total liters = ?
Then use pH = -log(H^+) and
pH + pOH = pKw = 14 to calculate pOH. You know pH and pKw, just solve for pOH.
