Help !determine the emprical formula of a compound w which had 34.2 of iron and 65.8 of chlorine cl35.5 fe56

Is that percent?
Take 100 g of material which will give you
34.2 g Fe
65.8 g Cl.
Convert to mols.
34.2/56 = about 0.6 (but get better number)
65.8/35.5 = about 2 (get better number).
Now find the ratio of each with the smaller number being 1.00. The easy way to do that is to divide the smaller number by itself, then divide the other number by the same small number.
Round to whole number. Post your work if you get stuck.
