Hello. I need help finding the open intervals of this equation:
f(x)=3x^2-12
I already took the derivative of it by using the derivative test and I got 2,-2 as critical numbers

The function is defined and continuous everywhere. I don't see how an "open interval" applies to it, but one can define a segment of the function in any open or closed interval one chooses.
