Hello,

I don't know where else to post the question but since this website has many teachers helping students and probably the appropriate place to ask.
-----------------------------------------
So today I was just thinking about the past in my life and one thing came to my mind was elementary school. I am an immigrant and I was not good at English at all. I remember my ESL teacher, I always had classes with him, he taught me a lot. He always gave the class (only 3-4 students including me) candies, particularly raspberry licorice and gave us presents on our birthdays and he was very caring. I am 21 years old now and I just want to meet him again and thank him for what he did.I wish I told him sooner.

I don't even think he teaches now and I have no way to find out whether he teaches somewhere else or not.

Yeah, it sounds creepy but I just want to say thank you genuinely.

So I emailed the principal and he told me that the teacher is no longer teaching there but he is on the supply teacher list. Kind of sucks.

would it be appropriate to ask the principal to let me know when teacher is teaching at the school as a supply? Is it too much to ask? I feel like the principal will probably ignore the request.

Thank you for reading~

Oops, my title is not right, it should be Not a question relating to subjects-off topic question.
You would have better luck if you sent a thank-you note to the teacher but in care of the principal. You can put your own contact information in your note, and if the teacher wants to contact you, he'll have the information.

But the principal is right not to be giving out teachers' or former teachers' contact information.
Thanks,

I don't mean to ask about the teacher's contact information, I know it's privacy. I meant if the teacher ever goes back to the school to teach as a substitute teacher.
Writeacher gave you the best advice. On this subject of thanking teachers I never thanked some of the best and caring teachers I had and I've regretted it time after time. Some I stayed in contact with and thanked them MANY years later. Some I stayed in contact with but let the days go by; now they are gone and I can't thank them personally. The lesson here is not to let the days go by.
No, only if facebook doesnt worj
