Question

Hello, I am trying to use APA format. I did some short answers and found answers in my text book, and there are 3 authors. I am just very confused if I do in cite notation, put the citation at the very bottom of each question I answered, or what. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it. When there is more then one author I get a little confused.

This is an excellent link to put in your bookmarks -- then use the list at the left to find the specific types of sources you need help with.

Click on <b>Reference List: Author/Authors</b> to see the different ways works should be cited depending on how many authors each work has.

If you quoted from or paraphrased a source, then you need to put the complete citation in a works cited list and a shortened citation in an in-text citation. Check on <b>In-Text Citations: Author/Authors</b> in the list on the left of this webpage.

It seems incomplete.

Does your instructor know what "Marquee Series 2007" refers to? Is that the complete title? Is it a book, pamphlet, or webpage?

It is a book, I do online schooling and have multiple short answers I need to turn in and fix in apa format. It seems different sites show different examples. One shows the location needing to be in there, and others don't. I just went off of the webstite you mentioned.

In Author/Authors, you found periodical entries. Those do not have locations, but books do.

Rutkosky, N., Seguin, D., & Roggenkamp Rutosky, A. (2008). <i>Microsoft Office 2007</i>.

So far, so good. Now add the city and the publisher, which will undoubtedly be Marquee something. Here is the form you should follow from the Purdue APS webpages:

Calfee, R. C., & Valencia, R. R. (1991). <i>APA guide to preparing manuscripts for journal publication</i>. Washington, DC: American Psychological Association.

At the end of the in-text citation, yes, but not in the complete citation that you use in the works cited list.

okay, and for the link you suggested, the examples don't show where to put the page number.

example:A Work by Three to Five Authors: List all the authors in the signal phrase or in parentheses the first time you cite the source.

(Kernis, Cornell, Sun, Berry, & Harlow, 1993)

Take a look at the citations on this webpage. There are many examples of references in signal phrases [such as "According to Jones (1998),"] as well as other ways to place citations in the text.
