Helllo I have no idea how to do this problem

given f(x) = x-3(x + 4)^(1/2)

how to solve for x when f(x) = -5
I know I could just guess and check but I would like to know how to do this algebraically by pluging in -5 like so

-5 = x - 3 (x + 4)^(1/2)

and solving for x which I don't know how

also is just by luck that 22/7 is pi?????
