Harriet needs to ship a small vase. The box she will use has a volume of 216 cubic inches. If the side lengths are all the same, what is the length of each side of the box?

30 answers

each side will be ∛216

If you can't figure that out, just start listing the cubes of integers:

1^3 = 1
2^3 = 8
3^3 = 27
...

and see where you get 216
yes thank u!
no, 6 x 6= 36 36 x 216. THAT'S HOW U GET 216
no dumb dumb 36 x 216 = 7776
DO THE MATH @DON'T CARE ABOUT....
@ lol random
and the answer is 54 cubic inches
@mikey williams I'm sorry but I think you miscalculated this by a long shot here, buddy.
In order to find the volume, you need to multiply Length*Width*Hight.
All sides are the same length in this question, then to find L*W*H, the volume's equation has to be ∛216.
If the answer was indeed 54 then you would write
54*54*54 witch is 157,464.
Now, that answer is way more than 216 which might I remind you, is the volume of the box the vase is being put into.
The real answer is 6.
6*6*6=216
or 6^3=216
or ∛216=6

To answer question #17 on Lesson 11: Real Numbers and the Coordinate Plane Unit Test Algebra Readiness (Pre-Algebra) A Unit4: Real Numbers and the Coordinate Plane
To calculate volume you need to multiply the Length x Width x Hight.
All the sides are the same length so it must mean for it to be X^3.
3*3*3=27 nope
5*5*5=125 close
6*6*6=216 perfect
You can also write it as,
6^3=216
or ∛216=6
Thanks Kitt i read a whole book but really tho good job explaineing it
SO whats the answer....?

the length of each side of the box is 6 because 6 cube root is 216 and 216 is the volume :)
The answer is 6
Kitt is correct! also people just read what they said so you can understand
im pretty sure ima fail this test.....nothing new😉👏🤦‍♀️but good luck to y'all
