Growing up playing baseball has been one of the most important parts of my life. Ever since I was a little kid, I was obsessed with the game. I remember going to my first baseball game with my dad, watching the players crush home runs and make insane catches. From then on, I was hooked! I started playing little league, and even though I wasn't the best at first, I practiced like crazy. I would take ground balls in my backyard until I couldn’t do it anymore, and I eventually got better and found my position at shortstop. I play for the Delaware Spartans, and honestly, it's one of the best teams I’ve been on. We always have each other's backs, on and off the field. Being a Spartan means a lot to me; we train hard, support one another, and we're all really passionate about baseball. Our coaches push us to improve, but they also know how to make practice fun. Whether we're working on our batting or doing fielding drills, we're always trying to get that win. It feels amazing to be part of something bigger than just myself.
Playing shortstop is where I feel most at home. I love being in the action; it feels like being the quarterback of the infield. I get to dive for line drives, turn double plays, and show off my arm. There’s nothing better than making an awesome play and hearing the crowd erupt. Those moments are intense and exhilarating! I put in the effort to make sure I’m ready for every game; every practice is an opportunity to sharpen my skills. Plus, I’ve learned so much about teamwork and communication, which helps out beyond baseball too.
But let’s be real, it’s not always easy. There are days when I mess up and feel down about it. Whether it's a bad game or slipping up in practice, I try to keep my head up. My teammates are always there to lift me when I’m feeling low, and that really means a lot. We all have our off days, but the support we give each other keeps the vibes positive. I know every player goes through slumps, and I can always count on my boys to help me bounce back.
In the end, baseball isn’t just a sport for me; it's a huge part of who I am. Whether it's crushing it on the field with the Spartans or dreaming about playing at a higher level someday, I'm all in. Every game brings new challenges, but they also bring the thrill of making memories and sharing laughs with my teammates. I wouldn’t trade these experiences for anything, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me next!
