I assume you meant
y = 4x^2 + 16x - 3
that gives you the y-intercept: (0,-3)
and the quadratic formula gives you the zeroes (-4±√19)/2
rearrange that to be
y = 4(x+2)^2 - 19
That gives you the vertex (-2,-19) and axis of symmetry x = -2
rearrange that to get
(x+2)^2 = 1/4 (y+19)
since x^2 = 4py has directrix at y = -p
we have p = 1/16 and the
directrix is y = -19 - 1/16 = -305/16
Graph the equation y=4^2+16x-3
1. Direction
2. Y intercept
3. Axis of Symmetry
