Good evening everyone. I have the below math problem. I am a bit confused on exactly what they are asking?

Members of a polling organization survey 700 of the 7,453 registered voters in a town by randomly choosing names from a list of all registered voters. Is their sample likely to be representative?

That depends upon the subject of a survey. Is it supposed to be only a survey of voters?
Hello Ms. Sue. Yes only a survey of voters.
Yes, then it's representative of voters.
Ms. Sue what do they mean by representative of voters? I am not quite sure what that means. Can you explain? I have never heard of such a question before.
It means that the people they polled are typical or average for all the voters in that town.

I other words, if the majority of voters are Republican, then the majority of those polled are also Republican.
That makes sense now with the way you just described and explained it. Now I understand the question better.

Thank you
You're welcome.
