The Book of Daniel is in the Old Testament of the Bible. It tells the story of a young man named Daniel and his friends. They were taken to Babylon after their home in Judah was destroyed.
Daniel and his friends, who were named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, had to follow the king's orders, but they stayed true to their God. They refused to eat the king's food and only ate vegetables. God kept them safe and they became wise.
Daniel could tell the king's dreams and give their meaning. One famous dream was about a statue made of different metals, which showed that many kingdoms would rise and fall.
Daniel's friends were thrown into a fire for not worshipping a statue, but God saved them. They came out alive without even smelling like smoke.
Later, Daniel was thrown into a den of lions for praying to God, but God protected him too, and he was not hurt.
The book also includes visions about the future and God's plan for the world. It teaches about faith, prayer, and trusting in God, even in tough times.
