Once upon a time, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario the plumber were the best of friends. They would often race each other to see who was the fastest.

One day, Sonic and Mario decided to have a friendly competition to see who was the best. They agreed to race each other around the world, starting from their respective homes in Mushroom Kingdom and Green Hill Zone.

The race began and Sonic quickly took the lead. He was so fast that Mario couldn't keep up. Sonic raced through the Mushroom Kingdom, across the desert, and up the mountains. He was so far ahead that Mario was starting to get discouraged.

Just when it seemed like Sonic was going to win, Mario had an idea. He remembered a shortcut that he had discovered while exploring the world. He quickly took the shortcut and managed to catch up to Sonic.

The two friends raced neck and neck until they reached the finish line. In the end, Mario won the race by a hair. Sonic was disappointed, but he was also proud of his friend for finding the shortcut and beating him.

The two friends hugged and celebrated their victory together. From then on, Sonic and Mario were the best of friends and would often race each other to see who was the fastest.
