Give 10 questions based on the manifesto below

Leadership is not about being in charge, it is
about taking care of those in your charge” with
that quote Kestelliens, I greet you. My name is
Itumeleng Modiba, a 2nd year (BA in Governance
and Political Transformation) student and I am
running for RC Finance, maintenance and
breakages. You might be thinking, "Why should
you vote for me?" The answer lies in the qualities
I bring to this role: dedication, transparency, and a
strong sense of responsibility. I am not just
committed to ensuring that our finances are handled with the utmost integrity, but I
also believe in clear communication and accountability.
The aim of the RC Finances is to keep the RC and residence accountable regarding
the budget, aligning with the values, vision, and mission of our residence, I will
ensure that every rand spent is justified, and that our maintenance and breakage
issues are addressed quickly and effectively.
My approach is rooted in listening to your needs and making decisions that benefit
the house. I’m here to serve, to maintain a high standard of living in our residence,
and to make sure our financial resources are managed in a way that reflects our
collective goals and priorities. With me in this role, you can trust that I will work
tirelessly to create an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
My experience as a mentor for 2024 and my involvement in various subcommittees
in the house such as the Act and Environmental Affairs, Strategies and Values, and
Arts, Culture, and College have given me a solid foundation in leadership and
teamwork. These roles have allowed me to develop important skills in project
management, strategic planning, and collaboration. With my background and skills, I
am confident in my ability to manage this portfolio effectively.
I have been deeply inspired by the current holder of this portfolio, particularly her
innovative approach to managing Snoopy. I am a strong advocate for uplifting
student entrepreneurs and plan to build on this success by seeking new renters from
our fellow house members and alumni as soon as I am elected. To accommodate the challenges of running a business, the rent will be set as a percentage of their
profits rather than a fixed amount. This flexible approach will help support student
entrepreneurs through the ups and downs of their entrepreneurial journey. Should
we be unable to secure renters, we will continue the current operations of running
snoopy, with the RC finance and my subcommittee overseeing its management.
Furthermore, I am committed to continuing the tradition of appreciating our cleaning
mothers, who play a crucial role in maintaining our home away from home. I will
ensure that we recognize and respect those who contribute so much to our
community.
In closing, I am not just asking for your vote; I am inviting you to be a part of a vision
for a more dynamic, inclusive, and well-managed residence. With my proven
experience, innovative ideas, and commitment to serving every student, I am ready
to lead with passion and integrity. Together, we can ensure that our home away from
home remains a place where every student thrives. Vote for me, and let's make this
year our best yet.
