For Literature i have to write a REGIONAL NARRATIVE. i know that a narrative is a story, but what is a REGIONAL narrative?

i'm going to write a fictional story about a boy who moves to a new town and is stuck between his decisions and his parents decisions(his parents want him to make friends with the most popular, and rich kids in school because the kids' fathers have a business together, the boy on the other hand does not think that is the 'right' group of kids to hang out with)

please tell me what i have to do to make this a REGIONAL narrative

How does your instructor or text material define regional narrative?

It seems to me that a regional narrative emphasizes the location -- city, country, U.S. South, old West, New England, southern California, or a specific place somewhere in the world.
