Find the values of x for which the line y=2x intersects the parabola y=(x-1)^2+1.

So I set the equations equal to eachother, and solved for x using the quadratic formula. The solution I got was: x=3.41 and x=0.59.
Could someone please check my work.

the easy way to check is to see if the points are common

y1-y2=0 (are the y's the same?)
Put this in your google search window:
2(3.41)-(3.41-1)^2-1=
then try the other root.
