Using the point slope formula
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
m=([1/2]-[1/2])/([-5]-[-9])
m=0/4
m=0
In other words, this is a horizontel line, with a slope of 0
m=rise/run
Find the slope of the line containing the points (-9, 1/2) and (-5, 1/2)
