Find all numbers that are not in the domain of the function. Then give the domain using set notation?

F(x)=________17over
xSquare+4x-12

1 answer

Are you saying

f(x) = 17/(x^2 + 4x - 12) ?
(I will assume that)

= 17/((x+6)(x-2) )
remember we can't divide by zero, which happens if x = 2 or x = -6

We can use any other value of x

so domain:
= { x ∈ R | x ≠ -6,2 }
