i also need help with this question factor:

(x+y)^2-x-y
help mee with the two questions, i don't get it and i have a test tomorrow!
someone please help!!!!
To make it easier to see,
let 2x^2 - x = a
so you have
2a^2 - 3a - 9
= (a-3)(2a+3)
put the original back in
= (2x^2 - x - 3)(4x^2 - 2x + 3)
= (x + 1)(2x - 3)(4x^2 - 2x + 3)
(x+y)^2-x-y
= (x+y)^2 - (x+y)
= (x+y)(x + y - 1)
