(f/g)(-1)-g(3) when f(x)=x^2+1 and g(x)=x-4. I got -1^2/1-4-(3-4), which became 2/-3 + 1. I multiplied the 1 by -3, which resulted in -3/-3 or 3/3. 2/-3+3/3 is 1/3. But my book says the answer is 3/5. Where did I go wrong?

1 answer

((x^2+1)/(x-4))(-1) - (x-4)
(1+1)/(-1-4) - (3-4)
-2/5 + 1
3/5
