The main Comptia certification I have chosen to pursue is the Comptia Security+ cert as I am wanting to get into the cybersecurity career field. Two other certifications I have come across while exploring the Security+ cert are Comptia's A+ certification and Network+ certification. The main benefit of the A+ certification is that it shows you have the basic fundamental knowledge for information technology and can realistically be applied to any position within the IT career fields, while the Network+ cert helps prove to employers that you show proficiency and have the essential networking skills for a networking position. The A+ cert will pertain more toward help desk/support technician positions, while the network + can help open doors for network and system admin positions. I do plan on getting these certifications as well, as the A+, Network+ and Security+ cert's can all be applied to a position in cybersecurity, it also does not hurt to get more than one certificate as these certifications are used to showcase your knowledge and understanding of Information Technology that you can apply to a job.
