Explain

Your job is to choose one of the following topics that you learned about this semester, and make a creative study guide that could be used by a future student in Intro to Business and Technology. Which one of the units did you most enjoy? Choose that unit and create an electronic poster, a Glogster, a presentation, a video, or whatever you'd like! Here are the units you have to choose from:

Employability Skills
Intro to Technology
Word Processing
Business Leadership
Marketing
Communication Skills
Your project should include images to represent the topic you choose, the vocabulary that is important for that unit, and a thorough explanation of your topic. Be creative and remember that this will count as 10% of your final grade, so do your best work! Remember, grammar and spelling are important! Use some of the additional resources made available to you and also do your own independent search for additional material to help you with your project. Try to create something that you would have enjoyed using while taking this course. Drop your completed project in the dropbox, "Performance Exam: Objective Final Study Guide". You will have three (3) days to complete this.

Good luck, have fun and be creative!

For your project in Intro to Business and Technology, here's a structured approach to creating a creative study guide. Let's say you choose the Marketing unit, which is often dynamic and can be easily made visually appealing.

Title: Marketing Mastery – A Study Guide

Step 1: Choose Your Format

Consider creating a Glogster where you can utilize multimedia, or a PowerPoint presentation with vibrant slides. You can also create a short video overview.

Step 2: Create a Catchy Header

Use a bold and colorful title banner – "Unlocking the Secrets of Marketing!"

Step 3: Vocabulary

Include a section for key marketing terms. Here are some essential vocabulary terms to consider:

  • Market Research: The process of gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information about a market.
  • Target Market: A specific group of consumers at which a company aims its products and services.
  • Branding: The promotion of a particular product or company by means of advertising and distinctive design.
  • Advertising: The activity of producing advertisements for commercial products or services.
  • Digital Marketing: Marketing of products or services using digital technologies, mainly on the Internet.

Step 4: Visual Representation

Incorporate images related to marketing:

  • Pictures of different brands Logos
  • Infographics that depict marketing strategies (e.g., the Marketing Funnel)
  • Screenshots of social media ads
  • A graphic showing the components of a marketing mix (Product, Price, Place, Promotion)

Step 5: Thorough Explanation

Write a brief overview to explain what marketing is and why it is important:

  • What is Marketing? Marketing is the process of promoting, selling, and distributing a product or service. It involves understanding consumer needs and creating value through fulfilling those needs effectively.

  • Importance of Marketing:

    • Attracts new customers by enhancing visibility.
    • Builds brand loyalty through consistent messaging.
    • Encourages consumer engagement and feedback.
    • Drives sales and contributes to overall profitability.

Step 6: Interactive Element

Add a quiz section where future students can test their knowledge. For example:

  • What is the difference between marketing and sales?
  • List three methods a company could utilize for digital marketing.

Step 7: Conclusion/Call to Action

End your study guide with a motivational statement encouraging future students:
"Understanding marketing opens doors to creating successful business strategies. Dive in and explore the world of marketing!"

Step 8: Review

Ensure to proofread your guide for grammar and spelling errors. Use tools like Grammarly to assist, and make sure that the layout is visually appealing.

Step 9: Submission

Once completed, save your project according to the guidelines, and submit it to the designated dropbox within the time frame.

Extras:

  • Utilize effective color schemes and fonts to enhance readability.
  • Consider including a short video that summarizes the key points discussed.

By focusing on creativity, clarity, and relevance, your study guide will not only prepare future students for what they need to know but also engage them in the learning process. Good luck, and have fun with your project!
