Explain what Maria and craters are and how they formed.

Hello! Alright!

A Maria are large, dark, basaltic plains on Earth's Moon. They are formed from the acient volcanic eruptions that happened a long time ago.

A crater is a bowl shaped whatever-thing on a ground of a planet or something. I think these were formed from floating space objects that smashed their selves onto this surface. Anyways I'm not sure at all.

Here's what I put if it helps:

A Maria is a large, dark, basaltic plain on Earth's Moon. They were formed from the ancient volcanic eruptions that happened many years ago. A crater is a bowl shaped dent on a ground of a planet or something else from space that hit the planet. These were formed from floating objects in space that smashed onto the surface.
