Explain pseudopod

1 answer

A pseudopod (or pseudopodium) is a temporary, protruding part of a cell that is used for locomotion and feeding. It is formed by the cytoplasm of the cell flowing outward and then retracting back in. Pseudopods are most commonly found in amoeba, but can also be found in other single-celled organisms such as foraminifera and radiolaria. They are used to move the cell around and to capture food particles.
