Explain how you could calculate the average speed of the Pacific Plate over the past five million years, then calculate the value?
These plates are in constant motion travelling at a few centimetres per year.
This is the information I found, but I still don't get what to do?

You cannot calculate because "speed" varies. It is not even.
Well we did an experiment in class and this is what is was:
You will measure the distance between the volcanoes in the Hawaiian Islands and combine this with the known age of the islands to calculate the historical movement of the Pacific Plate.
So from the data I have would I be able to figure the speed or not?
