I am just this week adjusting priorities for my third grader who is ill and has been out of school.
Reading fluency is number one
Reading comprehension is second
critically thinking about what she reads is third
and writing is fourth.
Math is fifth
Process skills are last.
Of course are all related. One feeds the ability to do the others.
One thinks so that one can write and read.
On reads so that one can think and write.
One writes so that you can read and think on it later, and others can join in.
Skills are interrelated also, spelling amongst them.
I will be happy to critique your thinking on this.
Explain how reading, critical thinking, and writing relate to one another.
