Explain a possible way to separate a mixture of water, ethanol, and sand?

You don't say how big the sample is as this can change the approach needed. In addition if the sample is mostly sand with a small amount of water and ethanol then a different method is needed.

If a small amount of sand suspended in water/ethanol mixture, filter the mixture to recover the sand.

Then fractionally distil the liquid to recover the water and ethanol.

If the sample is mostly sand with a small amount of water and ethanol then you would heat the mixture to drive off the water and ethanol and condense the vapour. Then fractionally distil the liquid. You might be able to combine the two steps.
Very clear and comprehended
is this called decantation, distillation, filtering, or evaporating?
