Evaluate the following expression: (2 x 3)>2 - 5>2

The answer I got was 11...How I got this answer was 6 x 6 = 36 and 5 x 5 = 25 then I subtracted 36-25=11`

1 answer

(2 x 3)>2 - 5>2 is a false statement.

you are basically saying:
6 > 2-5 > 2
6 > -3 > 2

the part 6 > -3 is true, but
-3 > 2 is nonsense

To ask "evaluate" the expression makes no sense

Hey, wait a minute!

Did you mean (2 x 3)^2 - 5^2 ??
then you have 6^2 - 5^2
= 36 - 25
= 11

I was trying to figure out where your 36 and 25 came from.

In most typed math expression a power is written as 7^2 for "7 squared",
12^3 or "12 cubed", etc
