Each day, a factory produces a total of 280 containers of ice cream. The flavors are vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Each day, the factory produces twice as much chocolate ice cream as strawberry ice cream and 20 more containers of vanilla ice cream than strawberry ice cream.

What is the correct equation, and what is the correct solution, for this situation, where s represents the number of containers of strawberry ice cream produced per day?

Select two answer choices: one for the correct equation, and one for the correct solution.
A. correct equation: 280=s+s2+s2+20
B. correct equation: 280=s+2s+s+20
C. correct solution: The factory produces 130 containers of strawberry ice cream per day.
D. correct solution: The factory produces 65 containers of strawberry ice cream per day.
E. correct equation: s=s+2s+s+20
F. correct solution: The factory produces 65 containers of strawberry ice cream per week.
G.correct solution: The factory produces 20 containers of strawberry ice cream per week.
i think for this question it is either A, B, Or C, if not then it is F, C, G

1 answer

s = strawberry ice cream

c = chocolate ice cream

v = vanilla ice cream

Each day, the factory produces twice as much chocolate ice cream as strawberry ice cream means:

c = 2 s

20 more containers of vanilla ice cream than strawberry ice cream means:

v = s + 20

A factory produces 280 containers of ice cream means:

s + c + v = 280

Now:

s + 2 s + s + 20 = 280

4 s + 20 = 280

Subtract 20 to both sides

4 s = 260

s = 260 / 4

s = 65

The factory produces 65 containers of strawberry ice cream per day.

c = 2 s = 2 ∙ 65 = 130

The factory produces 130 containers of chocolate ice cream per day.

v = s + 20 = 65 + 20 = 85

The factory produces 85 containers of vanilla ice cream per day.

B is correct equation

D is correct solution
