The question to ask yourself is, "If the 450 item now costs 360, what percentage is that of the original price?"

fraction = 360/450 = 0.80 (so there was a 20% discount).
See if the other one is the same (I think it is if the usual selling price of 600 is on sale for 480.)
Then use that same fraction to multiply the 500 VCR to see what it would sell for.

thanks a million! it was the same for the stereo so i just multiplyed $500 by .8 and got $400 as the sale price.
