you know that it takes 2 points to define a ray, right
so, how many ways can you choose 2 points from 3?
3P2 = 3*2 = 6
That is, you can pick any point for the start of the ray,
then choose any of the others to indicate the direction.
But, if the points are A,B,C in that order, then
ray AC is the same as ray AB.
