Does this sound okay, if not how might i improve it?

Thanks.

In this lab the purpose states that the method of extraction is to separate and distil two different immiscible liquids, an organic layer and an aqueous layer. In this experiment an ion transfer was apparent when the two layers came into contact with one another. This contact looked like an oil and water like mix which proved that equilibrium was present at that point. By the end of the experiment isolation of an unknown compound was to be found and identified by achieving a correct melting point. In doing so a melting point of 115 ºC was achieved. These results only left fluorine to be an adequate answer in solving for the unknown compound.

You don't say if this is procedure, summary, conclusions, or what have you. It sounds ok to me for a summary except for a few spots as mentioned below.

This contact looked like an oil and water ........
I think, "This contact appeared similar to an oil and water......" sounds a little better.

I'm not sure how the contact proved equilibrium was present but I'll take your word for it

By the end of the experiment, isolation of an unknown compounds........
I think this could be improved by "An unknown compound was to be isolated and identified by determining the melting point. The compound found in the experiment melted at 115o C which identified it as fluorine."

You must be aware that
1. fluorine is not a compound.
2. fluorine is a gas at room temperature and it has a melting point of -220o C. Pretty cold and a long way from 115 C.
3. You may want to rethink this conclusion. Your unknown compound was NOT fluorine.
