In a persuasive essay, you attempt to convince the reader through a series of persuasive arguments to agree with your point of view. You will support your arguments with facts and examples from the text of Romeo and Juliet. You will complete all the writing steps during Lesson 12.

Include sensory details to describe the situation that must be changed.
Show a contrast.
Provide an anecdote or personal experience.
Point out the other side's weak position.

First, take a few moments to prewrite, or brainstorm.
What do you think is the play’s message about love at first sight?
What is your experience with love at first sight?
What do you believe about love at first sight? Why? Jot down a list of reasons.

I just never read Romeo & Juliet and never really had the desire to read a cliche romance book, it's too much especially for someone like me who doesn't read books that much.
The first thing you need to do is read Romeo and Juliet. You won't get any help from Jiskha tutors until you do.

This no-fear version in modern English will help you.

ah, okay. I have to read the whole scenes?
Yes.
Alright :) I actually found out that I need to choose one topic to write about it. 1. The prince decrees at the end of the play that some people will be pardoned and others will be punished. Who is at fault for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Choose the character that you think is most responsible for the deaths of these lovers. Persuade the reader why this character is the most responsible with 3 arguments or reasons. Support your answer with the text.

2. Who would be considered the best “role model” in the play and why? Argue for who you think is the best role model by persuading the reader with 3 arguments or reasons. Support your answer with the text.

3. What is the most important literary device in the play and why? (Dramatic irony? Foreshadowing? Figurative language-similes, puns, metaphors, etc. or staging?) Identify the literary device and argue why with three reasons. Support your answer with the text.

4. Many people question how “true” Romeo’s love for Juliet really is because of his infatuation with Rosaline at the start of the play. Do you think Romeo truly loves Juliet? Why or why not? Persuade the reader with 3 arguments or reasons why or why not. Use examples from the play to support your answer.

Which one do you think is easiest for me?
Read the play first.

Post this again tomorrow or later AFTER you've read the play.
alright, thanks
You're welcome.
