Flooding where it never flooded before
That's only one! What else can you think of?
Does anyone know a few effects that deforestation has? Except for animals losing homes.

Thats a good idea, but what do you mean, where it never flooded before???
But thanks
But thanks
There are large areas of forest/woodlands north of Houston, TX. There are some towns in there and some highways, but mostly forest.
About 5 years ago, a toll road was opened through the southern part of this area. Lots of trees were cut down to make room for the toll road and all its detention ponds (places for rainwater to drain into). Then more forests were cut down to make way for large and small shopping centers — including all those parking lots and additional streets. Then more forests were cut down to make way for umpteen apartment buildings and housing developments — including all those paved streets and driveways.
That area had never endured flooding before, not even during a tropical storm or hurricane. Within the last 5 years, though, there has been lots of flooding in areas that used to be forest, but are now homes, apartments, toll road, other streets, shopping centers, and parking lots.
