Agriculture also led to the development of complex social structures, division of labor, and advancements in technology and arts. These factors eventually gave rise to civilization as we know it today.
While it is theoretically possible that another form of resource abundance or technological advancement could have led to the development of civilization without agriculture, it is generally accepted that agriculture was a key turning point in human history.
