Nope. The multiplication distributes over addition/subtraction; it does not change addition to multiplication.
-3(5x-2)
= -3(5x) - (-3)(2)
= -15x + 6
work with some numbers to convince yourself.
3(2+5) = 21, not 30
If you had substituted a number for x, you would have seen that you were off base.
Always check your results. Just because you arrive at an answer doesn't mean it's correct.
Distributive Property:
-3(5x - 2)
-3 (5x) (-2)
-15x + 6
= x - 9
