Distance on the surface of the Earth are modeled using globes and maps. Describe one benefit and one limitation of using globes and maps.

A disadvantage of using a globe to find locations over a map is that a globe is too big or bulky to carry around. Similarly, a globe would need to be extremely large to show a small area in detail, such as a town or city, and only half of the globe is visible at any given time. Advantages of using a globe instead of a flat world map include the former's ability to show the curvature of the Earth's surface and accurate distances.

There are some limitations of maps based on the medium used, like paper or digital, and the scale of the territory you are trying to represent. Take the solar system. Our maps of the solar system typically fit on one page. This makes them useful for understanding the order of the planets from the sun but does not even come close to conveying the size of the territory of space.
