Using the Tree Map from Step 1, which of the 3 plans do you feel was the strongest and why? What made that specific plan stand out among the others?
Lincoln’s 10% Plan:
A southern state would be able to form a government after 10% of its voters swore an oath of their lovaltyto the US
The new government had to abandon slavery
Voters could vote members of Congress and take part in the national government again.
President Johnson’s Plan:
Majority of voters in each southern state had to give their loyalty to the US
Each Southern state had to ratify the
Thirteenth Amendment, and which Congress approved of it
Banned slavery throughout the nation
Radical Republicans Plan:
They wanted to break the power of the wealthy people who have ruled over the South for a long time
Wanted to make sure that freemen were able to vote
