Mecca is a city in Saudi Arabia, and it is the holiest site in Islam. Muslims around the world face towards Mecca when they pray. The city is home to the Kaaba, a cube-shaped building that Muslims believe was built by Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail, and is considered the House of God. Muslims try to visit Mecca at least once in their lifetime, if they are physically and financially able, for a pilgrimage called Hajj. Mecca is a very important and sacred place for Muslims.
