Do you believe your health is at risk based on your exposure to the three IAQ hazards
The three potential indoor air quality hazards in my home are: the ventilation system, where it is so dusty and dry, and the coils in the heater ducts needed
to be cleaned out from dust build up. I have central heat and air.
Another indoor air pollution is in the building that I work out of, I am a hairstylist, so I have been inhaling smoke and fumes
for several years. Nothing bothered me in the beginning, but now I sometimes have headaches from
the continuous smoke from the curling irons. It's difficult to breath sometimes and I have terrible body fatigue.
The last indoor air pollution is the air that I breath inside of the house. A lot of times germs can be brought inside the house
from the outside. Viruses, bacteria, dust, and so on, and germs can be already inside. Which ever way it is, polluted air is still
being inhaled to harm us in some kind of way. In the polluted air, pathogens can exist and we may not even know it. These
pathogens is anything that can cause a disease, like bacteria, viruses, and so on.
The possible impact of each hazard can cause dry mouth or sore throat, fatigue, headaches, shortness of breath and nausea.
Yes, I do believe that my health is at risk based on the exposure. I think about all the time what kind of shape is my lungs in from
inhaling the smoke and chemical that I use. From the heat ventilation, I feel is minor and can be controlled by keeping the heating
unit cleaned when should, and the use of a humidifier to add moisture in the air. Concerning the indoor pollution in the air, try to
use continually an disinfectant spray all through the house to kill bacteria and viruses that are in the air, in bathrooms, and anywhere
else pathogens can be present. Those are some ways to reduce exposure to the hazard.
