Create a multiplication problem which answer is 8 x 10^13. Must be in scientific notation.

I don't get how to do this problem can you help me figure it out?

9 answers

pick two numbers whose product is 8
pick two exponents whose sum is 13

now use those to multiply, just as in other exercises which you have surely been given.
Okay thank you so much. I appreciate it!
So like 4 x 2 for 8. And 10 + 3 for 13?
No 4^2 and 10+3 so

4^2 (10+3) = 8 x 10^13
exactly right.
But that's 4*2 x 10^(10+3) = 8 x 10^13
4^2 (10+3=13)

4^2 + 10^13

I am confused.
Oh woops yeah thats right i just need to change the exponent to multiplication.
Thanks can you delete this now.
wait is this correct because i need a little help also with this problem i really do not understand
