Could you give me two reasons why it is a good idea for the BBC to be funded through advertising. I have already got that it generates a higher amount of revenue.

Funding by advertising saves the government and tax payers money.

Disadvantages include possibly creating a conflict of interest and may remove some objectivity from news broadcasts. Advertising may cause BBC to lose listeners who don't want the constant interruptions of commercials.
