cooler water has more dissolved oxygen: hot water has hardly any at all.

Oh, so they go to the bottom to get oxygen. Why does cooler water have more dissolved oxygen?

Generally gases are more soluble in cold water than warm water. Think of an open coke can in the refrigerator versus one left out in the sun. Which will go flat faster. The one in the sun because more CO2 comes out from a hot solution than from a cold solution.

Why do fish seek out the bottom of lakes on hot days?

Okay, I'm not exactly sure about this but I think it has to do with because it is cooler at the bottom. Does it have something to do with density or solubility or what?!
