[Continued from my last post]

B) Explain where a detritivore and a decomposer could enter this path. Explain what they feed on on the systems.

My answer:

Detritivores include worms and fungal and bacterial decomposers. Bacteria and fungi are known as decomposers because they cause decay. In a food web, these two would be on the same level as algae, which brings energy. They could enter this path anywhere and feed on the organic wastes and dead bodies that are produced at trophic levels. Decomposition of bodies and wastes releases nutrients back into the environment to be recycled by other organisms.

Is this OK?
